The Parenting Styles and Dimensions Questionnaire (PSDQ) was developed by Prof Clyde Robinson and colleagues and was designed to measure three styles — Authoritative, Permissive, and Authoritarian.
There are different outcomes associated with each parenting style, and it is possible to apply a blend of multiple styles to how you raise your child. Becoming more aware of your parenting style can help you overcome patterns that you might unconsciously find yourself in when disciplining your child(ren). It might shed light on a tendency to overly enforce rules and structure, or at the other end avoid any form of restriction on freedom.
